I had the privilege of working for not one, but two tween girls and their shared bath space. Their Jack & Jill bathroom (or Jill & Jill rather) was in major need of a makeover from their little girl days of pink painted princess murals. Each girl wanted a barn door for her bath entrance to allow more space in the adjoining bedrooms without a bulky door in the way. Having barn doors naturally lent itself to a shiplap wall– these girls are big fans of Joanna Gaines, so that was a super easy sell. To add a little bit of interest to the all-white bathroom, we painted the ceiling a soft blue grey, as well as the cabinetry, and it really warmed up the space. This bathroom is definitely something these girls can grow with, but will also be perfect for guests when the girls eventually leave the nest.
